An opened birdcage is associated with coming out of bondage into freedom. Therefore, a birdcage symbolizes the creativity of the fashion designers. Likewise, bird is a furry animal that associates with fur. 2 Geometric Chinese element: In old city of Shanghai, Chinese window frames and flowers are frequently used in their designs. I simplified the complexity of those elements into the design. With the concept of "the bird will come out of the cage on that night", the main idea of the programme is to give an experience to guests that they are opening the bird cage while they are reading the programme. Besides, the competition was held in an iconic skyscraper sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck. Birdcage is used throughout the whole design to represent the trap of creativity. In the final product, birdcage is concealed and no longer existed on the cover page, which means creativity is released. I chose the silver translucent paper and applied "gate fold" to cover design aiming to symbolize that it is a preservation of treasurable memory. In the presentation, they took a disciplinary approach to showcase how VR makes creation easier and artists are using VR to change the ways they work in different art disciplines. Therefore, I created icons to visualize each type of artist. Aiming to differentiate them, the initial icons are too illustrative and complex. I believe different typefaces convey distinct feelings due to their histories, forms and usages.Apart from the character designs, different background settings and title designs are applied to each typeface with suitable atmosphere. For instance, Sant Joan Despi´ is a cute and playful child. The paper of the poster in turn is a piece of single lined paper that is reminiscent of workbooks in school life.
