A Girl with Tattoos

Animation, Stop-motion, Prop-making
2016 | Collaborative Client Project: Radio Television Hong Kong
Objectives
This animation is created for a documentary about the story of a college graduate, Jayer Ko, who chased her dream as a tattoo artist under the pressure from her parents and friends. However, her parents rejected to be filmed in the documentory. I then suggested to create an animation to tell a part of her story.

Solutions
The animation concept is an overall gray accented by handcrafted props and faint lighting creates a sullen ambiance. It shows her loneliness rather than showing her parents' faces and emotional reactions. It protects and respects their feelings and strikes a balance between their needs and storytelling.
